TECC is providing trainings and resources and conducting policy activities that may benefit all California Native American Tribes. Here are a few:
Leaders and representatives of California Tribes and Tribal-serving organizations are invited to participate in Tribal Energy & Climate Collaborative eXchange (TECC-X) meetings to learn, share, and discuss important climate- and energy-related opportunities and issues affecting California Tribes. The bi-monthly, one-hour meetings will be co-hosted by the Tribal Energy and Climate Collaborative and the Pala Band of Mission Indians’ Tribal Climate Health Project (TCHP) with breakout sessions focused on different topics. Attendees will receive a timely briefing on assistance and input opportunities available to California Tribes. Attendees will then choose to attend one of two 45-minute breakout sessions focused on resilience topics or opportunities.
Leaders, staff, attorneys, and other representatives of California Native American Tribes are invited to participate in a new training series focused on identifying, understanding, and engaging in relevant proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), hosted by the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association (SCTCA) Tribal Energy & Climate Collaborative (TECC). Participants in these training webinars will:
1) learn how to participate in and influence CPUC proceedings and matters from legal and regulatory experts,
2) learn about timely and relevant CPUC proceedings that affect our lives,
3) share questions and priorities on CPUC matters.
TECC is developing and hosting this training series as part of its initiative to build sustainable capacity for Tribes to participate in CPUC decision-making processes and access clean energy programs. This training is being funded by CPUC Equity, Engagement, and Education (EEE) grants secured by SCTCA, Barona Band of Mission Indians, and San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians on behalf of TECC.
