Capacity Building and Technical Assistance

Overview

TECC provides technical and grant writing assistance, training, tools, and resources to build capacity and advance the priority energy and climate projects and initiatives of TECC Tribes.

Vision

All 26 TECC Tribes are making significant and sustained progress addressing their communities’ evolving clean energy and climate change needs and goals.

Primary Objectives

Conduct needs assessments on a regular basis to understand each Tribe’s needs and highest priorities for future projects.

Provide technical assistance (TA) and grant writing assistance with appropriate subject matter experts (SMEs) to advance each Tribe’s highest priority projects.

Increase each Tribe’s internal capacity through training, workforce development, strategic networking and partnership development, tools and templates, funding for staff, and other related support.

Grow TECC’s intertribal capacity to complement, supplement, and leverage each Tribe’s capabilities, experiences, resources, and influence on behalf of all TECC Tribes.

Key Funding and Partnerships

This program has been funded by a California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) Regional Climate Collaborative (RCC) grant provided to the Pala Band of Mission Indians.

Impact

TECC has assisted Tribes in securing approximately $20 million in funding for energy and climate projects since 2023.
