TECC provides education, training, and advocacy on key energy and climate related policies, programs, and regulatory proceedings of interest to TECC Tribes.
An active and effective clean energy and climate change policy and regulatory body, supported by dedicated legal, regulatory, and other experts, that is overcoming barriers, expanding programs and resources, and advancing the energy and climate priorities of all 25 TECC Tribes.
Influence local, state, and federal regulatory and legislative decision-making processes and proceedings related to climate and energy through strategic participation supported by a knowledgeable team.
Provide training and support for individual Tribes to participate effectively in local, state, and federal decision-making processes and proceedings on energy, climate, and related matters.
Support Tribes in engaging their communities on important clean energy and climate change decision-making processes, issues, and proceedings.
This program has been funded by a series of California Public Utilities Commission Equity, Engagement, and Education (EEE) grants provided to SCTCA, Barona Band of Mission Indians, and San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians.
TECC has engaged on several CPUC matters of importance to TECC Tribes to date, including the submission of a Petition for Modification to change a CPUC rule that would extend equity qualified energy storage project deadlines, in order to preserve several million dollars in CPUC Self Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) rebate funding.
