Eligibility
Federally recognized Native American Tribal governments and Native American Tribal organizations.
Eligible Activities
Projects should fit one of the categories listed below. If a project overlaps more than one category, select the dominant category.
- Locating and identifying cultural resources
- Survey and inventory of historic or significant places
- Survey of traditional skills and information
- Preserving a historic property listed in the National Register of Historic Places
- Project planning (plans and specifications for preserving a structure or site)
- Repair work to preserve a specific historic structure or site
- Comprehensive preservation planning
- Oral history and documenting cultural traditions
- Training and education for building a Historic Preservation Program
- Cultural and historic preservation interpretation and education
Duration
Projects are anticipated to occur between December 1, 2026 and November 30, 2029.
Notable Requirements
Must attach a complete set of financial statements including:
- Balance sheet/Statement of Financial Position
- Statement of Revenue and Expense/Statement of Activities
- Statement of Cash Flow
Preferences
Merit Review: Cultural and/or Historic Preservation Issue and Need (20 points), Feasibility (50 points), Commitment (10 Points), and Long Term Impacts (30 Points).
