$500,000 to $3 million for implementation projects and $100,000 to $350,000 for planning activities for Assistance to Coal/Nuclear/Biomass Closure Communities (ACC, NCC, BCC)
Approximately $75,000 and $200,000 for assistance to Indigenous Communities (AIC) non-construction projects

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include: District Organization of an EDA-designated Economic Development District; Indian Tribe or a consortium of Indian Tribes; state, county, city, or other political subdivision of a State (including a special purpose unit of a State or local government engaged in economic or infrastructure development activities, or a consortium of political subdivisions); institution of higher education or a consortium of institutions of higher education; public or private non-profit organization or association acting in cooperation with officials of a political subdivision of a State; economic development organization; and public-private partnership for public infrastructure.

Eligible Activities

Projects must be consistent with at least one of EDA’s Investment Priorities:

Critical Infrastructure
Workforce
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Economic Recovery Resilience or
Manufacturing

Duration

Dependent upon project type; strategy and non-construction projects range from 12 to 24 months and construction projects range from 12 to 48 months and must be completed within 5 years from the award date.

Notable Requirements

Projects must meet EDA’s distress criteria. In addition, each project must be consistent with the region's current Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) or an equivalent EDA-accepted regional economic development strategy.

Preferences

Projects focused on resilience, projects that support EDA’s goals of geographic balance in distribution of program funds, project types, and organization type, particularly including smaller and rural communities and organizations.
