Three grant award tiers:
- $25,000: Seed
- $65,000: Sustain
- $100,000: Synergize
Eligibility
- Native-led and Native-serving 501(c)3 organizations and collectives across the U.S. and its territories
- Federally and state-recognized Tribal Nations, and their affiliated/sponsored/chartered entities and governmental programs or initiatives
- Fiscally sponsored projects of a 501(c)3 organization that are Native-led and/or Native-serving
Eligible Activities
These bundles are the focus areas of investment for the ITF 2026 grant cycle:
- Maintaining the Life Cycle of Balance: Cultural and spiritual infrastructure in community.
- Intergenerational Knowledge & Relationships: The weaving of youth, adults, and Elders
- Healing: Holistic, culturally informed care that empowers the whole self.
- Nurturing That Which Nourishes Us: Indigenous foodways, lands, and waters as an interconnected system.
- Building Power & Activating Abundance: Sovereignty, civic identity, leadership, and the resources Native communities need to thrive.
Duration
Notable Requirements
Grant tier — Seed, Sustain, or Synergize — is requested on a supplemental budget template that applicants will download, complete, and upload as part of their applications. The template captures the applicant's funding tier request alongside a simple budget for how the grant would be used.
Preferences
Applications are reviewed and funding decisions are made by youth (ages 14–24) whose judgment is grounded in Indigenous community knowledge and lived experience. Reviewers assess each application across the following dimensions, and other criteria as determined by youth participants:
- Zone fit
- Demonstrated Impact
- Organizational Capacity
- Youth Centrality
- Community Accountability
