$25,000 to $200,000; around 80 awards are expected
Eligibility
Native American Tribal governments. Tribal organizations and other entities may participate as subrecipients or contractors to federally recognized Tribal government recipients.
Eligible Activities
Projects that initiate, develop, or implement activities or programs benefiting wildlife or their habitats, including plants. Projects may involve, but are not limited to:
- Conservation planning for fish, wildlife, and their habitats
- Conservation management actions such as:
- Field surveys and population monitoring
- Fish passage construction
- Habitat restoration, or
- Invasive species management
- Field and laboratory research related to fish and wildlife resources
- Habitat mapping and characterization, or
- Public education relevant to the proposed project
Funding may be used for salaries, equipment, consultant services, subawards, materials, and travel costs.
Duration
Notable Requirements
TWG Program funds may not be used to acquire real property interests. Real property interests include fee simple, fee with exceptions to title, easements, water rights, mineral rights, and leaseholds.
Preferences
Merit Review: Resource Benefit (30 points), Performance Measures (18 points), Work Plan (10 points), Budget (10 points), Capacity Building (20 points), Outreach, Partnership, and Data Sharing (12 points) for 100 total possible points.
