Overview

DOE’s Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs intended to release a $25 million notice of funding opportunity to support energy technology deployment on Tribal lands. Awards were anticipated to range from $100,000 to $2.5 million or from $250,000 to $5 million, depending on the area of interest: Install energy generating systems and/or energy efficiency measures for Tribal buildings; deploy community-scale energy generating system(s) or energy storage on Tribal Lands; install integrated energy systems for autonomous operation to power a single or multiple essential Tribal buildings during emergency situations or for Tribal community resilience; or power unelectrified Tribal buildings. The NOFO was expected to be issued in Spring 2025. In September 2025, this opportunity was completely removed from the page. Previously it said TBD.
