There are no maximum or minimum grant amounts; however, it is anticipated that most grants will be between $200,000 and $5 million
Eligibility
Public Agencies, including Joint Power Authorities and federally-recognized Indian Tribes; nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status; other community-based organizations and non-federally-recognized Tribes may apply with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Note: The Coastal Conservancy's jurisdiction runs the length of the California coast and includes the San Francisco Bay Area, the Santa Ana River corridor, and coastal watersheds.
Eligible Activities
The Conservancy will fund most stages of a project including: pre-project feasibility studies, property acquisition, project planning including community involvement, design, environmental review, permitting, construction, and project-related monitoring. The Conservancy does not fund operation and maintenance activities.

Notable Requirements
All information submitted is a public record subject to disclosure under the Public Records Act. For Implementation projects, applicants must submit a Conservation Corps Consultation Review Form. Send only the items requested in the Checklist. Do not send supplementary materials, such as PowerPoint presentations or letters of support at this time. If notified that your application for funding is successful, support letters from stakeholders, match funders, and elected officials will be requested for the funding approval.
Preferences
Selection Criteria: Extent to which the project helps the Conservancy accomplishes the objectives in the Strategic Plan; project is a good investment of state resources; project includes a serious effort to engage tribes. Examples of tribal engagement include good faith, documented efforts to work with tribes traditionally and culturally affiliated to the project area; project benefits will be sustainable or resilient over the project lifespan; project delivers multiple benefits and significant positive impact; and project planned with meaningful community engagement and broad community support.
