Pollution

The State Water Board receives grant funding from US EPA under section 319 of the Federal Clean Water Act to fund projects that reduce nonpoint source pollution. The 2027 Nonpoint Source (NPS) Grant Program supports projects to reduce and mitigate the effects of nonpoint source pollutants such as sediment, pesticides, and nutrients, to waters of the state within priority watersheds identified by the Regional Water Quality Control Boards. Projects that improve impaired waters, protect high quality waters, and restore fire-damaged landscapes will be considered along with planning and implementation project proposals.
