The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) funds projects that enhance the competitiveness of California specialty crops. The SCBGP is designed to support all sectors of California’s specialty crop industry and improve the performance of California specialty crops within local, domestic, national, and international markets. Specialty crops are fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, and horticulture and nursery crops, including floriculture. The funding areas are market enhancement, access, education and training, and research.

The Monarch Butterfly and Pollinator Rescue Program was created by Assembly Bill 2421 and signed into law in 2018. The program created for the purpose of recovering and sustaining populations of monarch butterflies and other pollinators. The bill requires WCB to develop and adopt project selection and evaluation guidelines, in coordination with the Department of Food and Agriculture, before disbursing these grants.

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation supports children, families, and communities to strengthen and create conditions that propel vulnerable children to achieve success as individuals and as contributors to the larger community and society. The Foundation Grants support community-driven work that helps children, families, and communities thrive. Funding priorities include early care and education, health, good food access, career pathways for parents and caregivers, racial equity, and community engagement.
