To fund new construction and upgrades of neighborhood-level resilience centers to provide shelter and resources during climate and other emergencies. The program will also fund year-round services and ongoing programming that build overall community resilience.

The program aims to support efforts that combine community services and physical improvements to protect the health of Californians who are most vulnerable to extreme heat.

Research on the direct and indirect health impacts of extreme weather in the United States. The goal is to address knowledge gaps by supporting the ethical collection of perishable, health-relevant data and the rapid sharing of results to inform efforts to save lives and prevent adverse health outcomes.
