Education and Training

Farmworkers Advancement Program (FAP) Grants support projects that focus on farmworker needs at the regional level by offering essential skills and upskilling training to advance in the agricultural industry and/or prepare for opportunities outside the agricultural sector. FAP programs will position farmworkers to access good-quality jobs, including those that pay family-sustaining wages, offer benefits, provide predictable hours, offer opportunities for career advancement, and promote worker voice. Projects will also provide wraparound support and resources to build skills, prevent job loss, and lay the foundation for upward mobility.

The Native American Library Services Enhancement Grants program (NAE) is designed to assist eligible Native Communities in sustaining and improving library services with their communities. As information needs change, Tribal libraries must be able to serve as knowledge and resource centers to benefit their users and the wellness of their communities. The NAE program supports Native Communities across the country to address their individual information needs and priorities.

California Natural Resources Agency Youth Community Access (YCA) Grants will fund projects that serve youth from low-income and disadvantaged communities and provide immersive and meaningful experiences with natural or cultural resources within California that participants otherwise would not have. Projects will provide California youth with field trips to national, state, and regional parks; cultural sites; events, and practices; and provide educational programming and workforce development opportunities.

This six-month technical assistance program provides practitioner-driven housing development fundamentals, peer-to-peer support, and approximately 20 hours of free, individualized TA from experts to help Tribal organizations maximize state housing funds and build internal capacity for construction. Federally recognized California Tribes, Tribally Designated Housing Entities, Tribes listed on the California heritage commission list, or Native-led 501(c)3 organizations involved in housing provision are eligible.

Cohort members receive $3,000 participation grant to cover travel and dedicated staff time, and can access an additional mini-grant of up to $10,000 for direct pre-development costs. The 2026 cycle is forthcoming.

Power Your Drive for Fleets helps fleet owners and operators reduce operating costs, eliminate emissions, and simplify vehicle maintenance by transitioning to electric vehicles. The program connects fleets with resources, fleet-friendly charging rates, and financial incentives to easily and cost-effectively design and install the charging infrastructure needed to power medium- and heavy-duty electric fleets.

The Department of Energy Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI) is launching the Providing Opportunities for Specialized Education in Critical Technologies (PROSPECT) program. With up to $100 million, the nationwide initiative will fund efforts to attract university students to careers that directly support the domestic production, processing, recovery, and recycling of critical minerals.

The near-term goal of PROSPECT is to double the number of graduates with degrees related to mining, minerals, and associated supply chain technologies within two years. In the long term, PROSPECT will support the implementation of new curricula, teaching tools, financial-aid programs, and other incentives that promote continued growth in these fields. The Resilience Hub Academy (RHA) is a comprehensive online “Masters Program” designed for those interested in learning more about Resilience Hubs and developing the skills to plan, design, and implement a Resilience Hub or network of Resilience Hubs in their community. The academy covers all the essential aspects of Resilience Hubs, while also connecting participants with content experts in a fun, interactive environment. Registration for the Winter 2027 National RHA was listed as opening in early August 2026, but still had not opened as of mid-September.

The Tribal Energy Leaders Fellowship (TELF) is a training program designed to cultivate specialized energy expertise within Tribal communities. Fellows receive 100+ hours of training focused on knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex opportunities and challenges of deploying clean energy and sustainability technologies in their Tribal communities, in ways that reflect Native leadership, values, and long-term goals. Fellows will receive free tuition, a professional network of energy experts and Tribal Leaders, and ongoing mentorship and technical assistance from the Alliance and instructors.

The Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program provides funding to expand the access to and adoption of broadband service on Tribal Land or programs that promote remote learning, telework, or telehealth resources, prioritizing proposals that align with the infrastructure investments and principles of the Broadband Equity, Access, And Deployment (BEAD) Program.

To address NIOSH's mandate to ensure an adequate supply of qualified personnel to carry out the purposes of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. ERCs are academic institutions providing high-quality, interdisciplinary graduate and post-graduate training, research training, continuing education, and outreach.
