The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF) supports researchers across the world working to reverse climate change by funding predictive environmental impact assessments (EIA), impact modeling studies, and stakeholder engagement efforts for small-scale field tests of new technologies.

California Natural Resources Agency Youth Community Access (YCA) Grants will fund projects that serve youth from low-income and disadvantaged communities and provide immersive and meaningful experiences with natural or cultural resources within California that participants otherwise would not have. Projects will provide California youth with field trips to national, state, and regional parks; cultural sites; events, and practices; and provide educational programming and workforce development opportunities.

Tribal Wildfire Resilience grants is part of CAL FIRE’s Climate and Energy Program and supports California Native American Tribes in managing ancestral lands, implementing and promoting Traditional Environmental Knowledges in wildfire resilience, and establishing wildfire safety for Tribal communities.

The mission of the SGM Grant Program is to provide funding to Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) and other responsible entities under SGMA to promote healthy and sustainable groundwater basins, to reduce and eliminate undesirable effects, and to promote projects that provide multiple benefits while also improving groundwater supply and quality. The 2026 Sustainable Groundwater Management Grants will have $3.5 million in funding for small GSAs and $6.5 million for Technical Assistance. Eligible projects increase groundwater storage, improve the management and operation of groundwater storage, or are for groundwater banking, and support implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. The public comment period for the Draft SGM Grant Program Guidelines is open until September 30, 2026.

This first-of-its-kind project provides ongoing strategic support and technical assistance to a cohort of diverse Tribes and Tribal entities across California that are leading initiatives to return, protect, and heal culturally significant landscapes, including waterways, within their traditional territories. This project will provide technical assistance, training, and coaching to overcome the primary barriers to Tribal land return for 31 California Tribes, including barriers in financing and the law. In addition, we will develop differentiated assets for Tribes and Tribal entities, institutional funders, individual donors, attorneys, estate/financial planners, and other relevant stakeholders on supporting the rightful return of land to Tribes. The next funding cycle opening is to be determined.

The 2024 Climate Bond invests $10 billion in local projects that strengthen communities — protecting drinking water, reducing wildfire and flood risks, restoring natural places, supporting healthy working lands, and expanding access to parks and outdoor spaces. The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) published a comprehensive list of all Prop 4 Climate Bond Programs. State-funded Sustainable Communities grants are intended to support and implement Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Sustainable Communities Strategies/Alternative Planning Strategies (SCS/APS) (where applicable) and to ultimately achieve the State’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target of 40 and 85 percent below 1990 levels by 2030 and 2045, respectively. Federal-funded Strategic Partnerships and Strategic Partnership Transit grants support Federal Planning Factors and address State highway/transit issues of regional, interregional, and/or statewide significance, in partnership with Caltrans.

The California Watershed Protection Fund supports projects designed to improve water quality and protect watersheds across California.

In response to a call for improved practices in philanthropy, The Campbell Foundation offers a broad range of grants, including unsolicited, multi-year, general support, and capacity building grants for community-based work.

The Timber Production and Expansion Guaranteed Loan Program (TPEP) provides financial support to qualified lenders whose loan applicants want to establish, reopen, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood processing facility that processes ecosystem restoration byproducts from USDA Forest Service National Forest System lands, along with Indian forest and rangelands.
