TECC evaluates and connects Tribes with entrepreneurs and businesses to advance cleantech and other solutions, train and grow a skilled Native workforce, and build or diversify Tribal-led ventures and economies.
A regional economic engine led by and benefiting all 26 TECC Tribes that centers Tribal sovereignty, systematically and rapidly advances clean energy and climate change technologies and solutions, and addresses TECC Tribes’ sovereignty, sustainability, resilience, economic, workforce, and other needs and goals.
Cultivate a due diligence ecosystem supported by appropriate subject matter experts that identifies, evaluates, and selects energy and climate technology as well as other relevant business ventures for potential investments by TECC Tribes.
This program has been funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines (RIE) Type 1 Development grant, the California Jobs First (CJF) Southern Border Region assistance, and a U.S. Economic Development Agency Build Back Better Regional Challenge Phase 1 Planning Grant provided to SCTCA.
TECC is helping to link innovative clean technology with Tribes through multiple approaches, including pilot and demonstration project opportunities for TECC Tribes, and partnerships between Tribes and cleantech businesses.
